Travel IR Tech – KC, KS – Days Contract w/Call – 13 weeks – $3,000 gross weekly

Level 1 is working with the University of Kansas Health System to locate an 
experienced Interventional Radiology, IR, tech for a day contract lasting 13 weeks. 
This specialty certified technologist assists in the performance of diagnostic, 
interventional and therapeutic radiologic and ultrasonic guided imaging procedures. 
This technologist is highly trained in working in surgical type work environments 
and is specifically trained to work in a sterile field.

Location: The University of Kansas Health System – Main Campus Kansas City, KS

Hours per Week:40	
Shift and Time:	Days, 10 hours 0730-1800, M-F with x1 day off week 
(rotating schedule where needs are greatest)	
Weekend Rotation:  None
On-call requirements: late call 1700-2100 as frequent as x1 week
Holiday Requirements: Holidays not required
Floating requirements:	 None

Experience Requirements: 2 years of IR, peripheral and neurovascular experience, 
Scrub experience required	
Experience Preferred:  3 years of IR, large hospital experience; Siemens or Epic experience. 
Must live outside of 60mile radius from facility. 
License Required: BLS. ARRT Radiography | Kansas State Board of Healing Arts; 
Can apply without KS license and apply upon offer 
Certificate Preferred: Vascular Interventional Radiography 
Post-Primary Certification from the ARRT (VI) 
Pay Package: stipend of $1,505, W2 $37.37hrly, for a total weekly gross of $3,000.  
Job Details:  Must maintain competence in assisting during physician supervised procedures 
with proper sterile preparation of patient access areas, procedure trays and miscellaneous 
supplies and devices used during the procedure. IR technologist is also accountable for 
ensuring the proper documentation of the use of contrast material and ensuring there is 
appropriate documentation related to patient charges. Must maintain professional,
clinical, and technical competency to perform radiologic diagnostic imaging procedures 
incorporating access techniques developed for specific vascular (arterial and venous), 
spinal, neurological and general chest, abdomen, pelvis and extremity locations. 
Responsible for completion of mandatory educational assignments as provided by the 
supervisor, nurse manager or director. The technologist follows all organizational policies 
in regard to confidentiality, HIPPA and maintaining a safe and protected work environment. 
The technologist is responsible for reporting any action that is detrimental to co-workers, 
patients, physicians and this organization. The technologist is responsible for maintaining a 
clean and organized work environment. Rooms and equipment should be properly cleaned prior to 
each procedure. Organizational policies for infection reduction are to be closely followed and 
maintained. IR technologist is personally responsible for maintaining required state and national
 licensure as a technologist, certification for life support response and IV competence. 
IR technologist is required to be able to understand and utilize the inventory tracking 
system and be able to order supplies when the opportunity presents. IR technologist is 
responsible for maintaining proper radiation protection (apron, thyroid, glasses) and 
ensuring that personal radiation monitoring device is worn appropriately at all times 
during procedures. IR technologist participates with patient safety by participating in 
“time out” procedures, post procedure “huddles” and abiding by the organizational policies 
and guidelines related to Culture of Safety. Must be able to perform the professional, 
clinical and or technical competencies of the assigned unit or department.

Gross Weekly Pay: $3,000
Weekly Stipend: $1,505
Taxable Base Rate: $37.37hr
