Job Description

Are you a “rockstar” nurse looking for a high-impact role in a brand-new department? Our award-winning Level II Trauma Center in Topeka is seeking 2-4 experienced Acute Care Registered Nurses to join our Admissions Pending Unit.

This is a fast-paced environment requiring sharp clinical intuition and the ability to manage patients transitioning into hospital care. We are looking for seasoned travelers who can hit the ground running and provide exceptional care in our state-of-the-art facility.

Compensation & Benefits

• Gross Weekly Pay: $2,196
• Hourly Rate: $26.39
• Weekly Stipend: $1,246
• Overtime/Holiday Rate: $39.58 (OT billable after 48 hours)
• Standard Hours: 36 hours per week

Requirements & Qualifications

• Experience: Minimum 2+ years of Acute Care experience. No first-time travelers.
• Certifications: BLS, AHA, ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS are required at submission.
• Skills: Proficiency in Epic EMR is mandatory.
• Flexibility: Must be willing to float to other units as needed and work holidays if they fall within your schedule.
• Commitment: 13–26 week contracts available (26-week preference).
• Note: TNCC may be required if the contract extends beyond one year.

Responsibilities

• Manage patient care within the newly established Admissions Pending Unit.
• Coordinate with the trauma and emergency departments to ensure seamless patient transitions.
• Maintain accurate electronic health records using Epic.
• Demonstrate adaptability by floating to various units based on census and facility needs.
