Frequently Asked Questions

FAQs for Job Seekers

How do I know if I’ll get travel pay?

In order to qualify for travel pay, applicants must live at least 60 miles away from the facility.

Who is my employer?

While you will be working, reporting, and following the guidelines of the facility, Level 1 Nursing is your employer.

How much experience do I need?

You will need at least 2 years of experience in your specialty in a hospital. You will also need to take a competency test in all units you are working in.

Do I have to work a certain number of shifts to stay active?

If you are hired on as Per Diem staffing we do not require a minimum number of shifts to stay active. We believe in creating an environment where our nurses feel empowered over their schedule. If you onboard for a travel contract you will be required to work the specific number of shifts agreed upon in that contract.

What do I do if I decide an assignment isn’t for me?

We understand that sometimes a contract isn’t what you were looking for. If you think an assignment will no longer work for you, we ask that you contact us immediately. We will try to find a replacement as quickly as possible, and you may be asked to stay at the assignment until we have found a replacement.

How do I get paid?

We offer direct deposit for all of our nurses. Once you fill out the paperwork your check will be deposited directly into your account.

Where do you have assignments?

Currently, we have assignments in Wichita, Kansas City, and surrounding areas.

Do you offer bonuses?

We currently offer a finders fee for referring a hospital to us and a $500 referral bonus for referring a nurse to us.

FAQs for Employers

Do you provide nurses for specific units?

Our talented pool of nurses are trained in multiple units. We do a competency test for all of our applicants to ensure they are competent in the field they’re applying for.

Do you have to have a certain number of jobs available?

Our number 1 goal is to make sure you are staffed with talented nurses when and where you need them. You do not have to post a minimum number of jobs with us. We understand there might be times when you don’t need any staff, so we are here for you when you do.

What screenings do your nurses go through?

All of our nurses must provide their current certificates and licenses. They also complete a competency test in their specialty areas, are drug tested, and have a background check completed before they are able to accept assignments.

How do we let you know the number of hours worked by your nurses?

We know that it is never one size fits all when it comes to staffing. If your hospital prefers to do the timekeeping for our nurses we can work directly with HR to obtain that information. We also offer timekeeping for our nurses and send weekly updates of hours/shifts worked.

How do we request nurses?

Once we establish a partnership with your facility, we work directly with the unit managers and the house supervisors to fill your open shifts.

How do you handle nurse scheduling, payroll, and administrative tasks?

We take care of scheduling, payroll, and administrative tasks leaving you and your administrative staff free to focus on patient care and day to day operations.

What nursing specialties can you staff for?

We can staff for all units of the hospital including: Med Surg, ER, OR, Labor & Delivery, NICU, PCU, Interventional Radiology, PACU, ICU, and more! Please contact us if you are looking for staffing in other nursing specialties.
