Job Overview

We are hiring a Travel Nuclear Medicine Technologist for a 586-bed acute care hospital in Topeka, Kansas. This is a 26-week travel assignment supporting a mobile nuclear medicine clinic within a large health system.

You’ll start each shift at the main campus, travel by mobile unit to scheduled clinic locations, and return to campus at the end of the day. Clinics rotate across multiple facilities within the health system.

Shift: 8-Hour Shifts | 40 Hours per Week
Contract Length: 26 Weeks


 Weekly Pay & Compensation

    $2,700 Gross Weekly

    Breakdown:

  • Weekly Stipend: $1,246

    • Meals & Incidentals (M&I): $476

    • Travel Stipend: $770

  • W2 Rate: $45.85/hour

  • Overtime & Holiday Rate: $68.77/hour


  Key Responsibilities

  • Operate nuclear medicine imaging equipment in a mobile clinic setting

  • Travel daily to assigned clinic locations within the health system

  • Prepare, calculate, and administer radiopharmaceuticals

  • Perform I-131 thyroid therapies

  • Practice radiation safety using ALARA principles

  • Conduct area radiation surveys and maintain compliance standards

  • Perform IV punctures using proper injection techniques

  • Maintain accurate, clear, and complete patient documentation

  • Process and route patient charts efficiently

  • Respond to Code Blue emergencies as required

  • Order, receive, return, and manage radioactive materials

  • Maintain clean rooms, equipment, and stocked supplies

  • Assist with training and mentoring new staff

  • Collaborate with leadership on equipment and budget needs

  • Contribute to a positive, team-oriented work environment


  Required Qualifications

  • Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist

    • NMTCB required

    • ARRT accepted

  • Experience with:

    • Mathematical concepts including fractions, ratios, percentages, and probability

    • Statistical inference in clinical practice

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills

  • Ability to work independently in a mobile clinic environment

  • Commitment to patient safety and quality care
